  • How did you take up boating? My stepdad was a boater and I always went out fishing with him.
  • Has the coronavirus changed your boating habits? I enjoy my weekends out on the water. Covid-19 has limited what we can do. We’re allowed at the sandbars or state parks now.
  • Favorite places to go: I enjoy Haulover Sandbar and Beer Can Island on Long Boat Key; Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park (formerly known as John U. Lloyd Beach State Park) in Dania Beach, and also the Fort Lauderdale Sandbar (located at the Intracoastal and New River).
  • What stands out to you the most about being on the water in South Florida? The weather and abundance of things to do like fishing, snorkeling and diving on reefs.
  • Must have item during trips? Plenty of water, food and propane if barbequing.
  • What is the farthest distance you have traveled on your craft? I’ve been to Bimini twice on my boat. Great experience.
  • What would be your dream boat? A 35-foot center console with all the amenities such as cabin, air conditioning and bathroom.
  • Best advice to new boaters? Make sure you are aware of the maintenance and cost of boating.
